Let’s talk about fear…

It’s Monday, and I’m going to do a spin on #motivationMonday. Today, let’s talk about fear.

I’m sure you know, mindset is a key component to entrepreneurship. Keeping yourself motivated, accountable, being positive, not having a scarcity mindset - it’s a lot to think about. But what happens when you’re dealing with fear and resistance?

For the past few weeks, I’ve been dealing with fear in my business. I’ve been trying everything I can think of to “push” through the fear - meditation, mindset work, ignoring it - you name it, I’ve tried it.

Nothing. Worked.

Last night, I had a breakthrough. Instead of trying to push through, I acknowledged it, and set it aside. It’s a technique I’ve learned for dealing with both chronic pain and with anxiety. There’s a guided meditation on @buddhifyapp called Train. It talks about how you can train your mind like you would a puppy. It’s a funny concept, but it works. When you have a thought - fear, anxiety, doubt, etc - you tell yourself to “stop" the thought. In a nutshell, by consciously acknowledging the thoughts, you can move on.

I can’t tell you why it clicked for me, but it did. It’s kind of like waking up and having a big pimple. It doesn’t stop your day. You put some coverup on, and get on with things.

So that’s my message today. The next time you have an obstacle you can’t push through, whether it’s fear, resistance, frustration, whatever, see what happens if you acknowledge and accept it’s there. Hopefully, you’ll be able to set it aside, and get on with your day :)
