I was told I was bad at sales
And that I didn’t believe in myself.
They were coaches I’d hired, and because there’s a level of trust with a coach, I believed them.
They were wrong.
They put their own lens onto what I was struggling with.
Even when I explained exactly what I needed - how to set up a sales call. Or what I wouldn’t do - sell with fear based tactics.
They didn’t, or couldn’t, change their approach.
So for months, I believed they were right. Because they were the experts.
Then, I did a free training, and found out I don’t have a sales problem, I literally just needed someone to tell me how to set up a call so there’s a natural transition to talk about working together. I did some more research and learning, and found ways to promote without using fear.
I tell you this not to bash other coaches. There were other things I learned from them that were great.
I tell you this because this is why I coach differently.
I don’t proclaim you have blocks. I ask you questions so we can get at what’s actually going on.
I don’t preach my way or the highway. I offer suggestions on things that have worked for me, worked for others, or work with you to get at what will work for you.
Because that’s what’s important - you.
You getting clear. You getting confidence. And you knowing the ways that business works for you.
